(MINOR UPDATE) v0.388 New DLC fighter, rare game crash fix, new fighter stats system, fighter select screen enhancements
v0.388 adds a new DLC fighter to the roster, as well as fixes a rare game crash and overhauls the fighter stats system from a 5-point scale to a 10-point scale for better differentiation of fighter stats visually for the player.
MAJOR CHANGES
Fighter stat scale changed from a 5-point scale to a 10-point scale for better communication to the player of the stats of one fighter compared to another. Fighters with stats of ratings 9(A), 10(A+), and 11(S) are color coded on the fighter select screen, fighter info widget, and continue screen
NEW FEATURES
You can now change the select screen roster type by pressing the Up key on the top row of the select grid and choosing a roster type
NEW DLC FIGHTER
Varuna: Designed for submarine sorties, this fighter brings forth auto-tracking missiles and a deadly electric beam that bounces between targets to put BRES on ice.
FIGHTER BALANCE FIXES
- Styx
- Bomber (Styx Shield R): Three extra spheres that rotate inside the three outer ones are added, for a total of six shield spheres
- Sever: Reduced damage of CLAW shots at Lv1, Lv2, and Lv3 from 8 to 3 per projectile (when the Styx itself fires the Sever lasers). Increased damage of the Sever at Lv4 from 220 to 270 when all 4 lasers hit
- Fire: Maximum projectile bursts simultaneously of missiles at Lv4 increased from 4 to 8
- Hunter: Shot count control routines changed to reduce number of Hunter projectiles generated when at least one valid targetable enemy is on screen. Hunter weapon damage increased from 17/19/23/28 to 22/24/27/32 per burst of projectiles
- P-38 Lightning (Psikyo): Subweapon (Homing Missile S) damage increased from 13/26/39/52 to 14/28/42/56 per burst of missiles
- Amada Vipros main shot: Damage increased from 30/32/34/36/38 to 34/36/38/40/42 per shot burst
- Divine Gale main shot: Damage increased from 34/36/38/40/42 to 38/40/42/44/46 per shot burst
BUGFIXES
- Fixed game crash when playing as any Variable Weapon Mode fighter (Miria, Styx) by holding down the SP button as a stage is loading
- Fixed R-9Leo Psy-Bit Seeker bomber being activated but the Psy-Bits remain next to the fighter if the bomb button is held when the bomber routines immediately end
- Fixed Raiden mk-II L weapon (Bend Plasma) not adding hit score when locked on to enemies
- Fix button prompt string not appearing when accessed from pause menu
OTHER FIXES AND CHANGES
- Improved Sakura's pronunciation of "Styx" in the select screen
- Bonzi's Lord British taunt now has a British accent
- Sound balancing for Judge Spear's weaponry: increased gain slightly for all its weapon sounds
- Sound balancing: increased gain of several enemy attack sounds
